Description

Extra protection for heat-sensitive orders

Warm weather is rough on chocolate, bread, cakes, and other heat-sensitive foods. Netrition’s Cold Pack Service adds frozen cold packs and insulated packaging to help limit heat exposure during the first 2 to 3 days of transit.

Cold Pack Service is free on orders over $50 or available for $4.99 on smaller orders.

What’s included

  • Frozen cold packs
  • Insulated packaging selected for your order
  • A reusable Netrition cooler bag or thermal wrap, based on the products ordered and current availability

How we pack your order

Depending on the products in your order and current availability, we’ll use either thermal wrap or a reusable insulated cooler bag with frozen cold packs.

The cooler bag is complimentary when included, but it isn’t guaranteed with every Cold Pack Service order.

What to expect

Cold Pack Service helps protect heat-sensitive products during transit, but it isn’t refrigerated shipping.

Your cold packs may be thawed or warm when your order arrives. Bread and other frozen products may also arrive thawed. This is expected and doesn’t automatically mean the products are unsafe or damaged.

For longer shipping routes, especially to the West Coast, choose Next Day or 2-Day shipping. Cold packs are most effective during the first 2 to 3 days and won’t protect an order through a 5 to 7-day trip.

Plan ahead for warm weather

  • Order early in the week to reduce the chance of a weekend delay.
  • Choose expedited shipping when temperatures are high or transit will take longer than three days.
  • Arrange to receive your package promptly or send it to a location where it won’t sit outside or in direct sunlight.
  • Don’t leave the package outside or in direct sunlight.
  • Follow the storage instructions as soon as your order arrives.
  • If your order contains both heat-sensitive and shelf-stable products, consider placing separate orders. This can help you avoid paying for expedited shipping on products that don’t need it.

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on package weight, destination, and selected delivery speed.

When your order arrives

Chocolate products: Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours before opening so softened chocolate can reset.

Bread and bakery products: Inspect the packaging, then freeze immediately and keep frozen until ready to use.

Cold Pack Service reduces heat exposure but doesn’t guarantee that products or cold packs will arrive cold or frozen.
