Stick with the flavors that satisfy cravings, or try all of the different variations of cake and frosting. You won’t have to go off of your keto diet at all!

Frosted Cake with 2 Grams of Net Carbs

It’s true. You can have frosted cake and frosting cupcakes for less than 2 grams of net carbs per serving. Each serving of Good Dee’s Low-Carb Cake Mixes has only 1 gram of net carbs per serving. If you’re on a low-sugar diet, be assured that there’s only 1 gram of added sugar per serving. The cake is gluten-free and free from artificial sweeteners.

It’s hard to beat only 1 net carb per serving, but the frosting does. You can make creamy, decadent buttercream and vanilla frosting that has 0 grams of net carbs. That miraculous result is due to using SweetLeaf Better Than Sugar 0 Calorie Powdered Sweetener. It is a mixture of monk fruit and erythritol, and it’s completely calorie, carb, and sugar-free.

Are you ready to learn more about the delicious possibilities? Here are some different ways you can make your cake.

Fabulous Cake and Frosting Combos

First, there’s basic yellow cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. It uses Good Dee’s Yellow Snack Cake Mix. This combination is what you’ll see in the recipe below. All you have to add to the cake mix are eggs, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract.

For many of us, there’s no point in making cakes without chocolate, so let’s get talking! You can start with a base of Good Dee’s Chocolate Snack Cake Mix. When making the frosting, mix in ⅓ cup of cocoa powder with the SweetLeaf Better Than Sugar 0 Calorie Powdered Sweetener, and then blend the sugar mixture into the butter mixture as indicated in the recipe.

For a different taste, see if you can find a ripe lemon or two. Then zest it and juice it so you can make amazing frosting - just add the zest and juice to the butter when you are beating it. You can turn Good Dee’s Yellow Cake into a lemon cake by adding more juice and zest, or you can pair your lemon frosting with Chocolate or Carrot Cake. Adding more lemon juice to the frosting makes it a little thinner in case you prefer a glaze.

You can make strawberry frosting to put on yellow or chocolate cake or cupcakes if you’re willing to accept another 1 gram of net carbs per serving. Just blend 1 cup of freeze-dried strawberries that have been crushed in a food processor, or 1 cup of fresh or frozen pureed strawberries, to the frosting.

Finally, here’s something you may have given up on for your keto diet: cream cheese-frosting carrot cake. Whip up a batch of Good Dee’s Low-Carb Carrot Cake or Muffin Mix, and spread it with cream cheese frosting. Just substitute ¾ cup of cream cheese for ¾ cup butter in the recipe below.

If you don’t have time or the ingredients to make the frosting, you can also use Good Dee’s Sugar-Free Frosting in No Milk Chocolate or Vanilla flavors. It has 1 gram of net carbs per serving, and is spreadable and delicious right from the can. Each serving also has 3 grams of dietary fiber.

Serving Your Cake and Frosting

You can serve this delicious cake at family gatherings, parties, or anywhere else. It can go well with tea or coffee. You can also pair it with fruit, such as strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries.

To make it fancier, you can garnish the cake or cupcakes with any of the following.

  • Strawberry slices
  • Colored frosting
  • Sprigs of mint
  • Thin wedges of lemon
  • A dusting of cocoa powder

The recipe makes a single-layer cake or 8 to 12 cupcakes, depending on how big you make each one. You can use two boxes of Good Dee’s Cake Mixes if you prefer to make a layer cake.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350. Grease an 8-inch cake pan or prepare 12 cupcake cups by greasing them or adding cupcake liners.
  2. Mix the eggs, oil, and vanilla in a bowl with a beater. Gradually add the cake mix and beat until blended.
  3. Pour the battery into the prepared pan or fill the cupcake cups to half full. Bake for 23 to 30 minutes or until the cake springs from the side of the pan if you are making a round cake.
